Keith Valley Middle School Bulletin for Monday, January 18, 2021

REMINDER THE DISTRICT IS CLOSED - MONDAY, JANUARY 18, 2021
Due to the MLK holiday on Monday (1/18), meal distribution will take place on Tuesday (1/19) from 4-6pm at Keith Valley Middle School. If you cannot come during those hours, we can schedule a delivery to your house or assign a specific pick-up time. Please contact Jessica Oldsey at joldsey@hhsd.org with all questions/concerns. Thank you and have a wonderful holiday weekend!


NJHS - ALL CURRENT MEMBERS
There will be a general meeting on Monday, January 25th @ 2:15 p.m.—2:45 p.m. to prepare for one of our community service projects. It is important that you make certain to attend. Also—you need to make certain to submit your 10 community service hours before February 1st.


TECH CLUB
Reminder that we will be meeting on Wednesday, January 20th from 3:30—4:15 p.m. Also, there will be NO meeting on January 27th and the next meeting will occur on Monday, February 1st from 3:30—4:15 p.m. Please use the following linkto attend.


KV MUSICAL THEATER 2021 - AUDITION INFORMATION
For those interested in crew, things will be a little different this year. Be on the lookout for crew opportunities in the future where we will need help with film/video editing, and anyone with photoshop experience - creating backgrounds and animated content.

Welcome to the 2021 theater season where we have many exciting plans in store! KVMT (Keith Valley Music Theatre) went live with their audition information for "You're A Good Man Charlie Brown." Please look for audition information at: KVMT Audition Info

Once the Google Doc has been filled out, your actor will be given the secure password where you will find information for the acting and singing piece. Please note, all audition materials will be due by next Friday, January 15th.

YEARBOOK
It's not too late to order the Keith Valley Hatrack (Yearbook). You will not want to miss out on the opportunity to document this unique and socially distanced school year. We will continue to pre-sell the yearbook until April. At that point any additional yearbooks will be sold on a first come first serve basis. The yearbook can be purchased online at www.balfour.comThe cost is $35. If you'd like your book name stamped, the cost would be $40.

ATTENTION 7TH & 8TH GRADERS - HATTER'S COED FITNESS CLUB
Following the decision not to run winter sports this year at KV, we would like to continue running our Hatter’s Fitness Club that we successfully ran in the fall. This club is open to all interested 7th and 8th grade boys and girls. Please read the below details and consider signing your child up for our winter Hatter’s Fitness club.

Program Advisor: Mr. Farrell: cfarrell@hhsd.org
Goals: Have fun, get in better shape, get some fresh air, & make new friends.
When: All Tuesdays & Wednesdays beginning January 12 and ending March 10
Time: 3:15 PM – 4:30 PM
Where: KVMS – Upper Gym
Cost: Free

Transportation: Parents are responsible to drop off & pick up their child


How to sign up: Please send an email to Mr. Carr noting your intent to participate: jcarr@hhsd.org.ALL HATTERS FITNESS STUDENT-ATHLETES MUST COMPLETE THE MANDATORY SPORTS PAPERWORK THROUGH ATS. No students will be allowed to participate until all sports paperwork is completed and submitted.
This is the same paperwork required for Fall, Winter & Spring sports at KV. For instructions on how to complete this paperwork, please visit: PIAA & CODE OF CONDUCT PAPERWORK. Each student's ATS login ID & Password were emailed to their school account on 9/22.

What to bring:
1. HHSD COVID PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT(please print, sign & date form with your student-athlete):HHSD COVID PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT
2. Please come dressed in gym clothes & sneakers. Be prepared with warmer clothes for cooler days.
3. Personal water bottle
4. Face Mask
5. Cell Phone(if possible)

What to expect: All HHSD COVID-19 sports protocols will be followed. This includes:
-Attendance, temperature taking & screening of all student-athletes upon arrival
-No access to KVMS building or locker rooms-No community water jugs/bottles. Students must bring their own water bottles
-Mandatory mask wearing where feasible
-Mandatory 6 ft. social distancing where feasible
-Students MUST stay home if they are not feeling well

Our intention is to participate outside when weather is permitting and inside when weather is not.
